Now there are many options. First lets assume you have saved the images you plan to use on your page to your web folder. Hopefully, you have put them into an images folder. You can name the folder(s) for your images anything you want, just so long as you make sure that is where they are when you save the changes to your page. This website has 6 folders for images, each has the images for a different area of the site. This permits quicker loading, the browser doesn't have to spend as much time looking for it. It also makes file organization a lot easier on me.

When you open the dialog box, you will have the option to navigate your system for the image. You can also search for your image on the WWW. If, by chance you stored your image within your web folder while FP was open (this particular incidence of being open) you can click the file folder in the lower right corner and navigate to your image folder and any new images will be found.

You can insert Videos, and Clip Art also.
Just click the buttons and follow it through.

Quicker Loading Images

Now that your image has been inserted, there are a few things you can do to make it even more useful and quick loading. Right click on your image. Choose picture properties. The following dialog box will appear.

The General tab gives you the opportunity to add a few more of your keywords to your page. Remember, search engines want to see each of your keywords between 3 and 6 times on the page you have the meta tag on, more than that may be considered spamming. It also displays any link that may be associated with the image. You can alter the link here just as if you had clicked the hyperlink icon. The target frame is extremely important for frame based sites; it also allows you to easily direct the browser to open the link in a new window.

The Video tab allows you to specify the variables for your videos. The more relevant variables you specify, the quicker it will load.

The final tab, Appearance tab.

Whenever you add an image to your page, make it a habit to immediately open your picture properties dialog box. Add your alternate text, as mentioned above, then click on the appearance tab. As shown in the image above, the drop down allows you to position the image just where you want it. Add a border to your image if you like, the larger the number chosen, the thicker the border. horizontal and vertical spacing is the same (larger number larger spacing.) You can specify the size too! Don't make major changes in the size here, but minor changes to accommodate better fit works just fine. (If you need to make major changes, open your image in your favorite image editor.) Remember, to avoid changing the proportions of your image, check that Keep aspect ratio button.
