Banner Ad Manager

When you click on the banner ad manager, the following dialog box will appear. With it, you can choose which pictures to include, how long they should be displayed, the rotation of their display and more...
This applet does not require FP extensions.

First you should choose the size of your banners. I would suggest if your images are not the same size, you should open them up in your favorite image software such as PSP and resize them, add a background, etc to have all of them the same size.

The next thing to choose is the transition effect. This is how your applet will change from one banner to the next.
You can choose from:

  • None (no transition effect, one banner will disappear and the next will appear.)

  • Blinds Horizontal

  • Blinds Vertical

  • Dissolve

  • Box In

  • Box Out

Next, choose how long you want your banners to be displayed. Remember, if you leave any one for too long, your visitor will not see many of them.

Do you want your banners to link to a specific page or other site? Choose your link here, when you click browse, the hyperlink dialog box will open.

This last section is where you finally get to choose the banners you add. Let me make a note here, the images do not have to be banners... any image will work, just keep them the same size.

Click Add....
Navigate your way to the image you want to include, click on it and click OK. You will notice that you can choose from images saved on your system, out in the WWW, or MS clipart.

After you have clicked OK, you have the opportunity to click Add... again. Do so, and continue in this way until you have added all the banners (images) you plan to have. Don't add too many, your visitors will never see them all.

Remove
Move Up
Move Down

These three buttons allow you to remove an image from the list of included images. Just highlight it and click remove, it will be gone. (Should you change your mind, just click add and start over.)

Move Up and Move Down work the same way as Remove does. Highlight the image you want to move, and click the Move Up or Move Down button to change its' position. The position they are listed in this dialog box will dictate their rotation in the applet.

Click OK...

The images in my banner ad manager are different sizes, see the gray "border" around them? To prevent this, make sure all your images are the same size.
They are set to change every 5 seconds, for these tiny icons, something much quicker would have been OK, but for a larger banner with text and other advertisement, 5 seconds would be ideal.

This applet does not require FP extensions.
