Publishing Your Site - Part 2

Copying Files to Your Server with FP Extensions

Access the FP wizard by Clicking on File, choose Publish Web.

Below is the dialog box that will open.

When it first opens, it will not view the 2 inner panels. When you click on Options, the box will open and the radio buttons and check boxes will be visible.

In the Single Line Text Box at the top of the dialog box, you will type the URL you want to upload your site to.

The Browse Button is used to locate a local file, for intranets.

If you have chosen not to host with Web Designs -4- You, and have not located a host as yet, click on the WPP button. Microsoft has provided an extensive listing of hosts offering FP Extensions.

Radio Buttons

The first time you publish your web, you will want to publish all of your pages.

Later, when you have updated some, or all of your pages, you will choose Publish Changed Pages Only. Remember, there are some pages that you would not want to be changed on the server, such as a guest book.

Choose Include subwebs and Secure Connection Required (usually ecommerce sites) as needed.

Click Publish and FP will do the rest.
